The Yamethin gold exploration project is located within the Mogok-Mandalay-Mergui Belt and 6 km northwest of the operating Modi Taung gold mine.

Yamethin Gold Company Limited is a Myanmar Joint Venture Company which is owned 80% by Savitar through its wholly-owned subsidiary Savitar Gold Pte. Ltd. and 20% by Myanmar company, Sann Shwe Pyi Gold & Mining Co., Ltd.

Savitar’s local partner operates 2 small-scale gold mines in the vicinity of the application areas. The Yamethin area has a long history of small-scale artisanal mining activity and numerous bedrock gold occurrences have been identified in this highly prospective area.

Current Status:

  • Applications submitted for a 46.95 km2 exploration license split between 2 blocks.
  • Successful community consultations held.
  • Environmental Management Plan (EMP) reports prepared for both areas and submitted to the Environmental Conservation Department (ECD) of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation (MONREC). Review is underway with final approval pending.
  • Exploration licenses have been approved by the Mandalay State Government.
  • Pending formal exploration license issuance by MONREC.
